The Card Concept Challenge #207- The Red, White & Blue

Hello my stamping friends!

I hope all of you are doing well and enjoying the nice spring weather!

It has been gorgeous here in North Carolina !

Beautiful Azaleas everywhere and all the green sprouting from the trees!

We are starting a new challenge today at

THE CARD CONCEPT!Http://thecardconcept.blogspot.com

Here is the photo inspiration:

I was inspired by the pretty red flowers and the red, white & blue colors to create my Mother’s Day card!

Clean & Layered Style card

Here is my card:

I decided to use this beautiful embossing folder and some navy card stock to create the background.

I die cut some red flowers, leaves and flower centers out of white Card Stock and then I colored them with some Copic Markers.  I added Black Stickles to the centers of the flowers.

I die cut a scalloped circle with some white card stock.
I stamped the sentiment, then adhered the flowers around it with foam adhesive.
I think they just pop against that navy background.

I hope I have inspired you to join our challenge!
We love seeing all of your beautiful creations, and

The Card Concept Challenge #204

Welcome my stampy friends to our new challenge starting today at

THE CARD CONCEPT CHALLENGE!

Here is our Inspiration Photo:

The moose and the colors inspired my Mixed Media Style card:

  • two or more mediums (for ex: inks, embossing powder, pencils, pastels, watercolor, charcoal, markers, pigments, mica powder, etc.)
  • may include dimensionals- embossing paste, gesso, fabric, found objects, papers, foils
  • may include heated elements- encaustic wax, embossing
  • can be a variety of styles- CAS, Graphic, Shabby Chic, Grunge
  • basically use of two or more mediums qualifies as Mixed Media

Here is my card:

I used the Tim Holtz Merry Moose Dies to make the moose and the Tim Holtz Festive Things Dies to make the trees. Then I created a snowy scene.

The snow was created by splashing  Copic Opaque White mixed with a little water and a paint brush.
I also used Snow Fall Accents Puff Paint and a heat gun to create the snow puffs on the trees and his antlers.

I hope I have inspired you to join our challenge
at the Card Concept!

The Card Concept Challenge #200 - Autumn Chill

Hello my stampy friends!

I hope you are all doing well and getting to spend lots of time creating!

This time of year is when I seem to want to create the most.

It's too chilly to be outside, so I'm happy to be in my craft room either watching football or a good movie!

Our inspiration photo at

The Card Concept Challenge

is perfect for these kind of days!

Autumn Chill

I was inspired by the leaves and the fall colors to created my Clean & Elegant Style card.

~Designer papers, embossing

~Clean lines

~Embellishments/accents

~Clean & Fresh looking

~Some colored images

Here is my card:

The pretty background paper is from a paper pad that I picked up from JoAnne's.
I thought it was perfect for this challenge!

The leaves were created by spraying some Brutus Monroe Chroma Mist Sprays on to some water color card stock.
I also added some splatters of gold distress paint.
Once the paper was good and dry, I die cut the leaves.
My sentiment was heat embossed with gold embossing powder.
