The Card Concept Challenge #156-Anchor's Away

Welcome my stampy friends!

It's getting HOT here in the South!

It was 90 degrees today! And it isn't even June yet!!!!!

(Thank goodness for air conditioning)

I am back to share a card that I created for our NEW challenge starting today at

I was inspired by the nautical theme to create a beach scene.

I started by creating some beach cottages! I stamped a house image from the Holiday Gnomes (Reverse Confetti) onto some white card stock to create beach cottages! The cottages did not have stripes on them, so I had to improvise!!! I took my ruler and a Micron Marker 05, and drew lines onto the cottages to give them a beachy feel.

Next I colored the cottage's stripes with blue, navy and red Copic Markers. The cottages didn't have stilts! So... I cut thin strips of white card stock, colored them with the Copic Markers to match the cottages, and glued stilts on them.
I think they turned out very cute!
(Hindsight...I would have made this a landscape card.)

The background is a 3 3/4 X 5 piece of white card stock. I took a Cloud stencil (MFT) with some Stormy Sky Distress ink and created a beautiful sea sky, but it is hard to see the clouds in the photo! I sponged some Antique Linen and Gathered Twigs Distress ink along the bottom of the panel to create the sand. To create the ocean, I sponged some Turquoise Ink (Altenew) right above the sand.
I stamped some birdies in the background. Added the sentiment. I added Crystal Glaze to the windows of the cottages, and of course always my Wink of StellaGlitter Glue pen! Gotta have sparkle!

I hope I have inspired you to create a card or project to share with us!!!

The style of my card would be considered

~Clean lines
~Lots of Layers
