Christmas Tag!

Happy Tuesday everybody!!!!
Hope you are all having a good day!

I just wanted to pop in and share a mixed media Christmas tag!

I was inspired to make this card by the Funky Junkie's Week # 6 of Christmas Tags

( I have only made 2 or 3 of the tags so far! Her's are so beautiful!)

I just received a new Tim Holtz stamp set form 7Kids College Fund store and I knew it would be perfect for this tag! I started by collaging some paper with Modge Podge from a real pretty paper pad called Santa's List by Teresa Collins.
One of the papers I punched with my EK notebook paper punch. See it on the upper right? I then stenciled some snow on the tag with my Simon Says Snow stencil.
The tree was colored with some Peeled Paint distress ink, and then I fussy cut it out. I added some snow to the limbs by heat embossing some white powder on them. And a little bit below the tree to make it look like it had fallen on the ground. I attached the tree, the red glittered numbers and a star to a torn corrugated ATC card. The sentiment was stamped on a wood veneer tag from Studio Calico. I distressed it with some Frayed Burlap. Barn Door, and Peeled Paint  distress inks.

Thanks so much for stopping by!!!

Just the way it goes

Hi ya'll!

Wanted to share a card that I made for

I painted Gesso all over the paper first. I  "finger" painted the  teal and green with acrylic paint.
I didn't have any purple paint, so I pulled out my trusty purple Gelato crayon. Just added water with a paintbrush to mimic the paint. The black streaks are black India ink. I would draw a line with the India ink dropper and then hold the paper up to get the dripped effect. The black speckles are from a stamp.
The result was this pretty modern art piece.
I found this old Ali Edwards stamp in my stash. I don't know why, but I felt this sentiment was perfect!!!  Weird sense of humor???? I heat embossed it with black embossing powder, then fussy cut it. Added a black bow... and ta da!!!!!

Together discover your dreams

Happy Sunday!
Hope everyone is enjoying their weekends! I am stopping in to share another card that I made this weekend. As I have mentioned before, I am trying to learn this mixed media thing, so I just LOVE Mona's new challenge: A Mixed Media Color Challenge.  It is making me want to create outside the box!!!

And this is my card:

I started by coloring wet watercolor paper with Distress Inks-Tattered Rose, Lemonade and Spun Sugar. I then applied a Gesso wash. I stamped the flowers onto this, but I also stamped the flowers on some white card stock, which I colored with Distress markers. I cut them out into individually and
glued down with Modge Podge. More stamping, a little stenciling with fiber paste, ink squiggles, and a little more gesso. I was really pleased with the way the Gesso softened the colors.
Final touch...buttons, twine and ribbon!

Thanks for stopping by!

Forever & Always

There is a fairly new challenge over at SplitcoastStampers called Mix-Ability.
I decided to to join the current challenge

I took some designer papers and tore them into pieces and then pieced them onto some card stock with ModgePodge. After it dried, I added some stamping and edged with Distress Inks. I wanted the upper right corner to appear like sunshine and the rest of the background to appear like the sky.
I am finding this mixed media stuff to be very relaxing!

The bird is a SU punch. I punched it in white cs and then used Distress Inks to make that pretty bluebird. I have a pair of bluebirds in my back yard! I have never seen them in my yard before especially since I live right in the middle of the city! They have been eating at my Suet Feeder and sitting in the cherry tree. They are so pretty against the cherry blossoms, hence my design for this card!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
Hope you have a great week!
