The Card Concept Challenge # 111-Sea Shells

Hello stamping friends! So glad you 're here!!!
WOW!
Look at this inspiration photo for our new challenge
here at the Card Concept!
Isn't it FABULOUS?!?!

That cool blue and those pretty seashells!
I was so inspired by that beautiful blue background.

Here is my card:

I started with my background panel. I took a  4 1/4 X 5 1/2  piece of Fine Linen (PTI) card stock and scored it on my scoreboard at 1/2 inch intervals. Next I sponged Broken China Distress Oxide ink (lightly) over the entire piece.  Then I sponged the lines and edges with Antique Linen Distress Oxide ink. I wanted it to look like a piece of wood.

The shells and starfish  (Stamps of Life-shells2stamp) were also die cut with Fine Linen (PTI) card stock.  I sponged them with Antique Linen  and Walnut Stain Oxide Distress inks, and just a little Broken China here and there. I added a charm and some linen thread to the sentiment for some texture.

The style of my card would be considered

CLEAN & LAYERED
~Clean lines
~Lots of Layers
~Designer papers, embossing
~Embellishments/accents
~Clean & Fresh looking
~Some colored images
~White space

The Card Concept #119-Shamrock Blessings!

Welcome to another Inspiration Challenge at
the Card Concept!

Today's theme is
SHAMROCKS!

As soon as I saw this photo, I thought of Mixed Media!
And I loved the greens with the touch of rust and white!

Here is my Mixed Media style card:

I could not believe that I only had one stamp that was a St. Patrick's Day theme!
And that was only this little bitty sentiment!!!
I had to think out of the box and create a shamrock!
I saw where you can use hearts to create a great shamrock! So that is what I did.

I took  distress inks and smooshed them onto water color paper .
I used stamps to add some texture, as well as a stencil with some embossing paste.
Once everything was dry, I die cut 3 hearts.
All that was left was to create a stem for the shamrock.
I think it turned out really well.

The style of my card would be
Mixed Media
2 or more mediums
such as inks, watercolors, stamps,
fabrics, foil.
Anything that adds texture to your project
