Have a sweet day

I hope you have had a sweet day!

I wanted to share a card that I made for the  Retrosketch Challenge #78.

Isn't this little dress the cutest? It is a Spellbinders die. It was very plain until I dolled it up with some pearls and lace (and a little ribbon). The background was inspired by a post I just read on Jennifer McGuire's blog about how to use your scrap paper. I cut lots of little strips of scrap paper and glued them to a 3 x 5 1/2 piece of white paper.  Pretty cool, huh?
Since the dress was so cute, I felt I needed to soften the background a little. So I added the yellow scalloped edges.

Hello

I just adored this sketch and all of the wonderful examples by the design team!

So I just HAD to join along!!!!!

This is my one and only HERO NEON ink and it is PINK! PINK! PINK!!!!
I have had it for awhile and had never used it. I got it because I kept seeing it was one of the hottest trends now, and was not quite sure I knew what to do with it. After seeing the cards that the design team members made, I ran and pulled it out.
I love it! I must get more colors! This was so much fun!

Just the way it goes

Hi ya'll!

Wanted to share a card that I made for

I painted Gesso all over the paper first. I  "finger" painted the  teal and green with acrylic paint.
I didn't have any purple paint, so I pulled out my trusty purple Gelato crayon. Just added water with a paintbrush to mimic the paint. The black streaks are black India ink. I would draw a line with the India ink dropper and then hold the paper up to get the dripped effect. The black speckles are from a stamp.
The result was this pretty modern art piece.
I found this old Ali Edwards stamp in my stash. I don't know why, but I felt this sentiment was perfect!!!  Weird sense of humor???? I heat embossed it with black embossing powder, then fussy cut it. Added a black bow... and ta da!!!!!

Wishing you a blessed day...

 Hello!!!! Happy Weekend!!!!

I needed to make a birthday card for a one of my best friends. She is the one responsible for my scrap booking and card making addiction  hobby. We have lots of fun together!!!!
So I wanted to make something fun and festive.

I was inspired by one of my blogging friends, Sue Lelli-Card Therapy. She is guest designing over at the City Crafter blog. I love this challenge!

Week 172 - Count Your Blessing

And I feel very blessed for LOTS of things, one being my friends!

So this is the card:

I know it doesn't have flowers, and the colors are not exactly, but
I wanted to wish my dear friend a year of blessing. She has had lots of family health issues this past year and I want this year to be much, much better!

I used the Mojo Monday #306 sketch for inspiration:

Back from vacation!

Just got back from a week in the gorgeous Outer Banks, NC!!

It was just me and my sister (above) and it was heaven!!!
A much needed vacation for both of us!

I was born and raised in North Carolina and have only been to the Outer Banks one other time. That was 34 years ago. Such a treasure so close!

However....there was NO stamping done!!!!

I will be back soon :)
