My first canvas

I created this canvas about a month ago, but wasn't satisfied with it. I removed a lot of the embellishments and put it aside.  The photo was taken at an Art Gallery show opening that featured some of my son's art work. His girlfriend's sweet parents were there and I took this photo of them with my I Phone. I thought the picture turned out great!  My son's girlfriend's birthday was not too long after this photo was taken, and I got a brilliant idea... I would make a mixed media canvas for it!  Well, needless to say I did not give it to her. I didn't like it! So it has sat on my shelf in my work area.

My son came home to visit this weekend and I showed it to him. He thought I should give it to her!
So I redid a few things and sent it home with my son to give her. Hopefully she will like it.

Thanks for listening to my babble!

Mackie I think this is fabulous! I LOVE all the layers and texture! I love that burlap and used the same on a card today though I have not posted it yet....unsure if it will make the cut! Lol! So glad your son encouraged you to give this - I am sure she will love it!
