Forever & Always

There is a fairly new challenge over at SplitcoastStampers called Mix-Ability.
I decided to to join the current challenge

I took some designer papers and tore them into pieces and then pieced them onto some card stock with ModgePodge. After it dried, I added some stamping and edged with Distress Inks. I wanted the upper right corner to appear like sunshine and the rest of the background to appear like the sky.
I am finding this mixed media stuff to be very relaxing!

The bird is a SU punch. I punched it in white cs and then used Distress Inks to make that pretty bluebird. I have a pair of bluebirds in my back yard! I have never seen them in my yard before especially since I live right in the middle of the city! They have been eating at my Suet Feeder and sitting in the cherry tree. They are so pretty against the cherry blossoms, hence my design for this card!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
Hope you have a great week!

Hi Chicadee

I got some new stuff and wanted to play!
A stamp set from Penny Black and a new 6x6 Echo Park paper pad.

The little chickie is so cute! Looks like he just might get that little bee! Love this stamp set! You can't tell in the photo, but the chickie has been "colored" in Glossy Accents and it's little beak and feet have orange Stickles on them. I put Liquid Pearl around the chickie. And of course, I had to use the chicken wire embossing folder!

Hope you have a fabulous weekend!!!!

Wishing You....

Hello!!!!
I created this card with a few challenges in mind!!!

and The Paper Players #137 sketch challenge

and new to me Addicted to CAS #8

I once again used the mixed media ModgePodge technique on the butterflies.
I used the beautiful Woodland Branch (Memory Box) die for the branch that goes across the top of the card. The tiny blossoms on the branch were made with Liquid Applique, and I colored them with a Mustard Distress marker.

First try at a mixed media card....

I am seeing more and more mixed media. Even SplitcoastStampers has a mixed media challenge now!
Well...I have been a little slow to jump on this band wagon. I really love looking at all of the beautiful mixed media creations in blog land. I checked out a couple of YouTube videos and saw this video and thought I would give it a try.  This is what I came up with:

I was very pleased with how these cards turned out!
I sketched a cake on a piece of white card stock. I cut strips of different designer papers and used ModgePodge to adhere them to the sketch on the card stock.  I  then brushed ModgePodge over the entire cake. Let it dry, then cut it out. When dry, I stamped the cake with various stamps in black Archival Ink. I used Distress markers to shadow the layers. And used a FaberCastell Pitt Pen to outline the layers. Added some buttons and bows and bling...tada!!!
Pretty cakes!!!

I am definitely gonna try this mixed media again and go a little bolder each time!
A little Gesso, a little splatter.
First cards....then GASP!!!...canvas????? Who knows?

Wishing away your cloudy day

I always like to play with the Retrosketches Challenges and this week is no exception!

I was in the mood for pink and black. Probably because I just got my new papers from
Paper Trey Ink-Hibiscus Burst! I just love these papers!!!! So pretty!

The stamps are from Stamps of Life sets called clouds2cut and boots4rain.
I heat embossed the sentiment and clouds with black embossing powder.
I hope you can see the clouds on the black panel that I embossed with a cloud embossing folder.

Another birthday card...

Another birthday card. This card is for one of my sweet bosses. I work for 3 female dentists! They all have different personalities. One is quiet and sweet, one is loud and a riot and the third is young and cute as a button! I have the best bosses!!!!

This card is for the quiet and sweet one!

I used the colors from the challenge

I was inspired by the rose and the beautiful pinks (my favorite colors!)

 Happy, Happy Birthday, Dr. Peleaux!!!!!

Dancin' Candles and Birthday Cake!

Hi Ya'll! It has been awhile since I have posted! Sorry, sometimes life gets in the way and sometimes it is just laziness! Oops!
Some friends  having birthdays has forced me to get in my craft room!!

I used this sketch from the fabulous Jen Shults. Well...not exactly, but close!
I found these papers at Michael's the other day and I just love them! The papers are from a Mat Stack called Sunday Afternoon (DCWV). They are scalloped on all 4 edges!
I bought this stamp ages ago and thought it would be fun to color.
And here is one of the cards!

And here is the second!

The birthday cake was cut with the Cricut cartridge "Sweet Treats" at 3 1/2 inches.
I embossed it with a swirls folder and the yellow panel is embossed with a floral folder.
As you can see, I used lots of Liquid Pearls and Stickles on both cards. I didn't add any bows or twine and it felt really strange. But IRL the cards are very sparkly and I didn't think they needed much more embellishing.

Thanks so much for stopping by!!!!
