Hello! Hello!
I am getting in the mood to make some Christmas cards! Finally! I had better get busy. It's like it hasn't hit me that it's only a few weeks away! Eeeeeeekkkkkk! Oh yeah, that's a Halloween sound!
This card was inspired using the
CAS-ual Fridays Sketch Challenge #26.
CAS-ual Fridays Sketch Challenge #26.
It is a very simple design with a punch to it! I really liked how this card turned out. I tweaked the sketch by turning it on it's side.
The ornament is made with the Stampin Up ornament punch. I punched 3 ornaments in one of the Memory Box Yuletide 6x6 designer papers ( I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this paper) and 1 in SU Crumb Cake. I inked all the edges in Crumb Cake ink. I glued the 3 DP ornaments together and tied a bow at the top with some PTI button twine. This makes the 3-D ornament. I cut the Crumb Cake ornament in half, then placed it under the ornament so that it would "outline" the ornament.
This is a cool trick to use with all sorts of labels , etc. to put a shadow or outline behind it.
I tied more button twine around the brown snowflake paper (also Memory Box Yuletide) to hopefully look like the ornament is hanging from the top. I added pearls to some of the snowflakes to give them some pizazz! The sentiments are stamped with Verve stamp sets.

Hope my 3-D ornament will inspire you. You can make all kinds of 3-D items this way!
Thanks for stopping by! Your comments make my day!!!!!!

Thanks for playing along with us at CAS-ual Fridays!
Mackie, this is beautiful! Those pearls in the snowflakes add just the right amount of shine,, and I LOVE the ornament! Will it flatten for mailing? Thanks for the tip about cutting things in half to be able to outline things. Way easier than trying to cut it out by hand. ~Hugs, Cheryl
What a beautiful card!
