April In Paris

Hello! Hope everybody had a great Memorial Day weekend!
It is Tuesday, so that means it is time for me to host the 7KIDS Store blog!
And this is what I am sharing over there!

The stamped image is  Penny Black called April in Paris. After stamping the image with Black Archival ink, I did some watercoloring with my Prisma Watercolor pencils. I am really liking these! They are so soft and blend so easily!

What an honor!

Our Inspiration:

And my card:

We have a wonderful returning sponsor, Newton's Nook

for the Curtain Call Inspiration: Totally Tassel!  A randomly selected participant in this challenge will receive a $30 gift certificate to use at Newton's Nook while the LEAD will be invited as a Guest Designer in a future challenge!

My inspiration for my card was the fabulous colors and graduation season!
You know....tassels on a cap!!!
I needed to make a graduation card for a very good friend's daughter, who is graduating this weekend.
I made my "mortar board" cap by cutting a 1 1/2 X 1 1/2 square. Then made the button with a small circle punch. The fun tassel was made with the Sizzix tassel die and vellum.
This card looks so festive in real life with the fun, bright colors and the gold glittery stars!

Make sure you visit each of the designers' blogs for more inspiration!

Paper Sweeties May Release Countdown

It is DAY 2 of sneak peeks of the newest releases here at

As I said yesterday... LOVE!!!!!!

Here is Jake...ready for the All Stars with this newest MVP stamp set! I used the brown corrugated paper and green paper to represent a ball field! I found some lined paper that I used to paper piece his uniform. I always think pin stripes when I visualize a baseball uniform! And then I added a little shading with Copic Markers.

Come back tomorrow because it will be RELEASE DAY!
And everything will be available at the Paper Sweeties Shoppe!

Flower Sparks Tag

Hello my stampy friends!
It is Tuesday, so that means it is my turn to host over at the
And this is what I am sharing over there!

I was inspired by the fabulously talented Melissa Phillips's Make It Monday challenge last week! Melissa used Gelatos around her stamped images, which gives this nice softness. I just love the effect! The flowers from the Flower Sparks (Penny Black) stamp set were perfect for this technique!

Anything Goes-Vellum

Welcome my stampy friends! It is time for a new

Our challenge this time includes a twist: USE VELLUM

Vellum is very on trend right now, and I love to use it on my projects.

First, I stamped The Sweetest Sound (Penny Black) image onto vellum paper with Versamark Ink. I sprinkled Clear Embossing Powder (Ranger) over my stamped image and then heat set it. Next I colored the reverse side of the stamped image with Ranger Distress Markers.  The birds and tree branches are real shiny IRL due to the clear embossing. It is hard to see this in the photograph. Finally, I tore some of the edges and machine stitched it to my designer paper.

Please join our challenge HERE!
We always have a $25 dollar shopping spree winner for the 7KIDS Store!
The more you enter, the better your chances of winning!
But REMEMBER...
YOU MUST USE A STAMP THAT HAS BEEN PURCHASED FROM THE 7KIDS STORE TO QUALIFY!

Paper Sweeties May Inspiration Challenge #30 - 'Celebrate Mom'

Hello! I am so excited because it is time for a NEW Inspiration Challenge here at

See our pretty photo inspiration:

I have been so lucky that I have had the best, sweetest mom ever! She is almost 89 years old and now has to live in a Skilled Care facility. It is very difficult, but I know she is in good hands. When she was able, she loved to Tole Paint.
Anybody out there remember or know what that is? And then she got into painting resin Santa Clauses. We decorated her room with several of the Santas that she painted thru the years. It gives her great pleasure when one of the nurses or staff comment on her Santas! Mom was always happy in her craft room, so I guess it was inevitable that I would be too!

And now.... on to the card I made for her!

I got my inspiration from the pretty pink and mint colors of the inspiration photo.

Paper Sweeties Stamps and Products used for my card:

Roses: Party Time
Stems & Leaves: Pretty Posies
Sentiment: So Sweet Of You
Seam Binding: Mint

TIP: After I stamped the flowers, I lightly outlined them with a light gray Copic Marker. This just adds some nice dimension.

I really hope you will join our
Paper Sweeties Inspiration Challenge!

You could win a $25 shopping spree to the fabulous
Paper Sweeties Boutique!
