Vintage Girls

Hello everybody!! It is time for another "Anything Goes Challenge" at 7Kids College Fund!
Today I wanted to share a card that I made for this challenge.

I made this card with papers from Graphic45 called Sweet Sentiments. This paper pad is full of beautiful spring images and flowers. These sweet little girls were cut out of one of those pages.
I adhered them onto a little paper bag that my good bloggie friend, Kellie sent me! I used a fun technique on the bag to alter it a bit. I saw this online and wanted to try it!
I inked an embossing folder with Versamark ink and then ran it thru the Big Shot. I then sprinkled Aged Gold Embossing powder over the embossed image and heat set it. Voila! Isn't that bag pretty?
I also added some flowers, pearls, tulle and a very pretty die cut made with the Fairy Tale Flower border by Memory Box. The ribbon on the tag was white seam binding that I died with Squeezed Lemonade Distress Ink.

I hope you will join us with our new Anything Goes Challenge!
You may be chosen as one of the Top Three and if you use an image from the 7Kids store, you will be eligible to win a gift certificate to the 7Kids store!

Hoot! Hoot!

Hello everybody!!!
I was doing my usual Sunday morning browsing in blogland and I came across the
Saturday Step X Step at Frilly and Funky. Rebecca was showing how to make a Bendi Card. Apparently Bendi cards have been around a long time, but they are new to me! It looked very interesting!  Well...then I started looking around at what's new at the Silhouette Online store. And lo and behold...there was a Bendi Card!!! And then my little creative brain got an idea!
Owls!! Birthday!! Why this? I do not know!!!

But this is what I made:

Is this not a hoot???

Here is how it opens up..

Ta Da!!!!

You see...there are these little tabs and slots on the panels that make them bow out and give a 3-D effect!

It wasn't very hard to make, just a little labor intensive.
But so much fun!!!
I am gonna definitely try it again!!

Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Times

Isn't this cardabilities sketch GORGEOUS???
I just had to try it! And this is what I came up with!

Gold is very on trend right now, so I decided to use gold embossing for the clock and the sentiment!
I used Versamark Ink and stamped the clock and clock hands from the MPD Timeless (MFT) stamp set onto vellum paper. I then cut it out with a Large Standard Circles (Spellbinders) die.
The flower was made using the Prima Donna Petals (MFT) die. I added an enamel dot for the center of the flower. The doilies under the flower were cut out with Mini Delicate Doilies (MFT) dies. The flourishes were cut with the Fancy Flourishes (MFT) dies.  All of the beautiful papers are from the Etcetera (Fancy Pants) 6X6 paper pad.
I had lots of fun with this beautiful sketch!

Most of the supplies that I used for this card are available at the 7Kids Store!

Happy Birthday

Hello! I hope everybody survived the Big Winter Storm!
We had 8 inches of snow! Wow! It has been 10+ years since we have seen snow like that here in the Piedmont area. And now...the sun is out and the snow is beginning to melt. Yay!

And of course I took advantage of being stuck indoors! Craft room...here I come!

I was inspired by the current Frilly & Funky Challenge
Your project must have hand-made flowers!

I made a birthday card for one of my co-workers!
And the fun part about this card, is that I used paper from a valentine paper pad. This is a page from the Cupid's Arrow No.14 (MME) 6x6 paper pad. There was a heart on this page, but I hid it with some flowers! The flowers were also made with paper from this same valentine paper pack.
I used the Tim Holtz Tattered Flower Garland die to cut out my flower petals. I misted the cut out petals with water and folded each one  around the tip of a paint brush. When they were nice and dry, I carefully pulled them back to their original shape. This technique gives the petals great texture. I then rounded the petals by curling them around the end of the paint brush. I put them together with a hot glue gun. The flowers are more aqua color INR, than what they appear in this photo!!
The red leaves were punched with a Martha Stewart Leaf punch.
The sentiment was heat embossed with white embossing powder on a black tag which was cut with an Impression Obsession tag die.

Here is another view of my card on a gray background. I just wish the aqua flowers would show up better in these photos!!! Darn it!!

I'm gonna hook this card up to the Simon Says Monday Challenge-We Love Stamps, too!

Keep your face to the sunshine...

Hello! It is time for another Anything Goes Challenge here at 7Kids!
I got into my mixed media groove with this challenge and made a tag. I love playing with all the different elements of mixed media.

I knew right away what I wanted to do on this tag when I looked through my Typography (Graphic 45) 8x8 paper pad. One of the pages is full of several different images and sentiments. I picked this one because I just loved what it said...Keep your face to the sunshine! Isn't that a great quote to live by???
So I cut it out, distressed and inked the edges,  and then made it the focal point of my tag.
I took a piece of a cardboard box, tore it, gessoed it, and then colored it with some Faber-Castell Gelato crayons. I love Gelatos, because of their colors and all the different techniques you can use with them.
I used embossing paste and stenciled the background of the tag. I used the Graduated Diamonds (MFT) and the Fleur de Lis (MFT) stencils. After the paste dried, I colored the raised areas with the gelato crayons mixed with water! Pretty cool, huh?
I added some gears, flowers, die cut leaves, lace and ribbon to complete the look.

I hope you will join us this time with our new Anything Goes Challenge!
You may be chosen as one of the Top Three and if you use an image from the 7Kids store, you will be eligible to win a gift certificate to the 7Kids store!

Case this sketch # 62

Hello! Hello! Hope everyone is enjoying their day!
Here in North Carolina, you never know what the weather will be in February.
Yesterday it was only 39 degrees, today it is supposed to be 60. Always up and down!
I am ready for the warmer weather to get here and stay!
And then I will be complaining about the humidity!!! heehee

I don't know which I liked more...this sketch...or the fabulous creations by the design team of this sketch at CAS(E) this sketch.

So I just had to play!

And I played with my latest crafty toys from My Favorite Things!
I cut 2 different design papers and red card stock with the Staggered Hearts die. I then layered and pieced the various cuts together. And then stamped the sentiment with the MPD Distressed Hearts stamp. Added a pink gemstone...and tada!!! My card!

Valentine Petals

Happy Tuesday!
Hope it has been Terrific!
Just wanted to share a card using this Saturated Canary stamp that I think is adorable!
It is called Valentine Petals. The Saturated Canary stamps are so easy to color. And and so much fun!

After coloring her with Copic markers, I used a Wink of Stella marker to put some sparkle in her eyes.
I cut her out with the beautiful Lattice Rectangles(Spellbinders). Love this die!!!
