Retrosketches #130

Hello crafty friends! Hope you are having a great holiday weekend!
I have been playing in my craft room today withwatercolors and a fabulous sketch from

And here is my card:

I am in LOVE with this stamp set from Stamps of Life called candles4birthday! I thought the candles would be perfect for this sketch. I would color a candle with a Distress Marker, then spritz with water and then stamp it. I just think this turned out really cool. I hope you can see that 3 of the candles are cut with the matching dies and then mounted with foam tape for dimension. I did that to represent the 3 flowers in the sketch! That one lone sequin is NOT red IRL! It is hot pink! I wish I hadn't even put it on the card. Oh well....

Thanks for stopping by!

hope. dream. fly.

Hello crafty friends!
Welcome to a new Anything Goes Challenge here at 7Kids
I want to share a card I made with the fabulous Accordian Fancy Labels Die by Elizabeth Craft Designs. You can make cards OR mini albums with this die! Love it!

As you can see, I decided to make a mixed media card! I had so much fun with all the different textures. I started by "coloring" my backgrounds with Ranger Distress inks and water. When everything was nice and dry, I  applied embossing paste and Aged Silver Embossing Powder to my Tim Holtz Harlequin Stencil. I heat set this with my heat gun and got this gorgeous effect!
I didn't do this to the middle panel. Instead, I used the coordinating Fancy Frame Edge Die and cut out these pretty die cuts with silver glittery paper.
The adorable birds are are from a Crafty Individuals stamp set called Four Little Songbirds They were stamped with Black Archival ink.

This is what the card looks like closed:

You can really see the silver glitter die cuts in this photo.
Finally, I added a little fran-tage!
Now I hope I have inspired you to get crafty!

Don't forget to visit the other design team's creations!

Hope your day is as fabulous...

Hello everybody! Hope all is well!
I finally got a chance to play with my new  Fabulous Flamingo stamp set from Reverse Confetti!

Love!!!!!! I heat embossed the flamingo with hot pink embossing powder and cut it out with the matching die. The background was made with the TH Harlequin stencil. I added some black India ink to some embossing paste and applied it to the stencil. When it dried it became super glossy. I think it looks great behind the pink flamingo!

I hope your day has been fabulous!

Happy Birthday

Hello crafty friends!! Just popping in with a birthday card!

The sentiment is a background stamp by Crafty Individuals called Calligraphy.
I stamped it with Versamark Ink and then heat embossed with Ranger Black Embossing powder.
I cut it out with the Large Deckled Spellbinders die. The frame behind it is also a Spellbinders die called Lattice Rectangles. I think these two dies compliment each other very nicely!
I inked all the edges with Ranger Tea Dye Distress ink. Finally, I added some flowers and gears from my stash. I think this card will be perfect for the person I had in mind!

Items that I used for this card that are available at the 7Kids Store are linked below.

It's 5 o'clock somewhere!

Happy Wednesday! And that means it is time for another

I hope you have been having a fabulous week!
Or are you needing a drink about now???? HaHa!
I just love this stamp by StampingBella!
She is called Madison has a Margarita. Isn't she precious!
I wanted her to be bright and festive.

Miss Madison is stamped on watercolor paper with Black Tuxedo Memento ink. And I colored her with Copic Markers. I added some Glossy Accents to her cocktail and her shoes. And I colored her dress with a clear Wink of Stella glitter pen. It is hard to see this in he photo, but looks really cool IRL!!
After I colored her, I lightly brushed the background with water around the image.  Then I added some Ranger Distress inks to get this cool watercolor effect. I stamped some stars and added some sequins for a little oomph!

Now, go check out what the other design team members are doing!

Tweet Chirp

Happy weekend! Hope you are doing fun stuff, especially crafting!
I played in my craft room this afternoon with one of my new stamps-
Scribbly Birds by Dina Wakely for Ranger. You have probably been seeing a lot of these birds on blogland. I just love them, so of course I had to have them, too!

I chose to make a tag. And it has lots of textures! I started first with clear embossing paste and stencils. Then I added color with watercolors and Distress inks. It even has glitter! Did I go a little crazy or what??? But I love it! Hope you do, too!

I hope this qualifies for the current

I used summery colors and colored my bird like a yellow finch.
We have had lots of these little finches at our feeders this summer!

Bring on the cake

A quick post to share a card I made using Marci with cat (LaLa Land) !
I needed another birthday card for sweet girl who I know!

I stamped her on Neenah White card stock with Jet Black Archival  ink.
I then colored her with Ranger Distress Markers and a Tim Holtz water brush. As you know, I LOVE coloring this way! I fussy cut her out and then popped her up with foam tape.

Don't forget to join the current Anything Goes Challenge at 7Kids!

Thanks so much for stopping by!!

Circle Flip It Die #2

I got a new toy!!!!!
I just got this Stephanie Bernard/Sizzix Circle Flip It #2 Die!
So much fun! And easy!!!

 Front / Closed

Inside (Open)

I chose the beautiful paper of the Tim Holtz Wallflower collection. I positioned the die so that it would accent this beautiful bird! I just love this die, because it comes with all of these extra pieces. Everything on this card, except the branch and feathers was cut with this die set!  Love it!!!!

Since I featured the bird and feathers, I think this card may qualify for the current challenge over at

Hello and welcome to the 2nd Birthday Celebration

I was so excited when Debbie Marcinkiewicz of Paper Sweeties invited me to join this
How fun is this? To be included with so many talented people is a true honor! Yay!!!

The festivities will run for the entire month of August!  We have a couple sponsors who have donated prizes … including a $100 GC to the Paper Sweeties boutique – details are on the blog.  Leave a comment on the blog to be eligible!

Our photo inspiration:

My sketch inspiration:

Since this is a birthday celebration, I chose to use the darling Paper Sweeties Sending Sweet Thoughts Bundle (stamp set and matching dies)!

And here is my card:

First, I stamped the cupcake, flowers and cupcake holder with Versamark ink on vellum paper, and then sprinkled white embossing powder over the images and heat set them.
Next, I colored the reverse side of the stamped images with Ranger Distress Markers. This gives a very soft look to the sweet images.
Don't cha just love that darling cupcake???

Hopefully you have "hopped" here from the very talented Gail Lass and now will continue hopping to the super creative Aneta Mataszewska! If you get lost along the way you can go to the beginning here!

Thanks so much for celebrating Paper Sweeties 2nd Birthday!
