The design team  decided to "Get Wordy" with this challenge-
use a sentiment on the front of the card.
And I think a birthday sentiment is the best type of all!

Here is my card:

I made this birthday card for my VERY special blog friend, Mona Pendleton. You must visit her blog "Cupcake's Creations" because she designs some of the most beautiful creations! She just finished a term as a design member for My Favorite Things, so you may have seen many of her creations for that company. She even designed some stamps, stencils and dies for My Favorite Things!

I started this card by using the Doily (Tim Holtz) stencil. I spread a thin layer of transparent embossing paste, and let it dry thoroughly. I then inked it with Picked Raspberry, Mustard Seed, and Worn Lipstick Ranger Distress inks with my Mini Blending Tool. The embossed areas resists the ink!

On another piece of Neenah white card stock, I used the same stencil and only used Picked Raspberry distress ink.  I cut the butterflies out of this paper, using the Fancy Butterflies (My Favorite Things) dies. Then I inked the butterflies' edges with more Picked Raspberry Distress ink.
Next, I made some flowers with the Tattered Flower Garden (Tim Holtz) die. I used white card stock for these flowers and colored them with the Distress inks.
I made the banner, stamped the sentiment and added some buttons to complete the card!

Now don't forget to check out what my team mates have created!
They are a VERY talented crew!
And don't forget to join our new ANYTHING GOES Challenge!

Hello my crafty friends! Happy Tuesday!!!
I am leaving for vacation today. Whoo! Hoo!

As you can see, this is a shaker card. I just love these. They are just so fun!

I followed the current RetroSketch # 124

The cute stamp set is called Life is Good by Lawn Fawn.
I stamped the images with Black Memento Ink and colored them with Copics.

Hope you liked my little beach scene.
Now I am off to put my toes in the sand.....

Harlequin Stencil

Happy Wednesday, my crafty friends!!! It is time for another
Please join the fun! We always showcase the Top Three, plus give away a $25 gift certificate to the 7Kids Store, for a lucky random winner.  Everyone loves to shop, right???

My card may look simple, but there are several techniques involved, which I thought I would try to share with you below.

First my card:

Using the Harlequin Stencil(Tim Holtz), I colored a  4 x 51/4 white card stock with Picked Raspberry Distress ink with a mini blending tool, and then cut out a circle.

I used the same Harlequin Stencil, and applied a thin layer of white embossing paste on a 4 x 51/4 white card stock. I set it aside and let dry.

I die cut the Lawn Fawn Hello   three times with scraps of card stock. I glued these together to make the word Hello thick like chipboard.  I  "colored" a piece of white card stock with Picked Raspberry ink. Then sprinkled it with water droplets to distress it. I then cut one more Hello out of this piece, which became the the top layer.

Here is a close-up of the details:

Pretty cool, huh?

I saw a card similar to this one, from one of my favorite bloggers who is SO talented, called Jennifer McGuire. You can see her tutorial here. She shows 2 ways to make this card. I tried the hardest, but did the easiest. Hey, I tried!!!!!!!
Hope you have enjoyed my card.

Love is Everything

Happy Saturday! I wanted to pop in and share
a quick post of a wedding card that I made for a very sweet couple that got married last night.

I stamped the flowers 3 times with Versamark ink on white Vellum paper. They were heat embossed with white embossing powder. I flipped the petals over and colored with Distress Markers.
I did the same thing with the leaves. I layered the petals together with Glue dots, and adhered silver gems to the centers. I dry embossed the frame with an old Cuttlebug embossing folder. I stamped the sentiment and heat embossed it with silver embossing powder.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Blue Hydrangea

Happy Tuesday!!!
Just a quick post of another card I made with this stamp set by Penny Black called Blooming Tags.

I stamped the image with Black Archival Ink. I colored the image with Ranger Distress Markers and a water brush (my favorite medium, lately). After coloring the flower, I "colored" it again with my Wink of Stella Glitter Brush, to add some shimmer. I then fussy cut it and adhered to my card.
Very simple, but very elegant!

Hello

I couldn't wait to play in a brand new challenge called

And this is my card:

I tried to use lots of textures, but not overwhelm the card.
I just got this new stamp set by Penny Black called Blooming Tags.
I stamped it on watercolor paper and then colored the image with Ranger Distress markers.
Beneath the tag is a die from Tim Holtz for Sizzix called Trellis. The background paper was inked with Disress ink. I then added texture with some white embossing paste that I mixed with Watermelon alcohol ink to get the matching ink color. Lastly, I added ribbon, twine and black gems. And there you go! I am so excited about this new challenge! It is gonna be lots of fun!

Oh Happy Day!

Hello! Hello!
It is time for another Anything Goes Challenge here at  7Kids! The design team decided our theme for this challenge would be TAGS!!!! I love tags because they are so versatile. They can be very simple or every elaborate!

I decided to make a birthday tag:

I had just received some goodies from the 7Kids Store which included this fun stamp set, and I couldn't wait to try it out! This darling little girl is from Whimsy Stamps. She is one of the Time for Tea Designs by Whimsy called Birthday Present. I stamped her on Xpress-It Copic Blending card stock with Black Tuxedo Memento ink.  Most of her is colored with Copic Ink markers, except for her shirt. I paper pieced the shirt with some of the scraps of paper that I had used for my flowers.

I made the tag by tracing a manilla tag with white card stock, and again with patterned paper from the Hello Sunshine (Lawn Fawn) 6X6 paper pad. I glued the patterned paper to the white card stock to form my tag base.
I picked out several different papers from the Hello Sunshine paper pad for my flowers which I cut with the Tim Holtz Tattered Floral Garden strip die.
The sweet little Scalloped Banner is from LaLaLand.
After I placed the flowers, banner, enamel dots, etc., I added my stamped image of the cute little girl.

Thanks so much for joining us with our
There is so much talent out there!!!!

And I hope you will join us for our current challenge!
