We all want a home......family, friendship and love

Happy Sunday!
Hope everyone has been enjoying their weekends. I am up early this morning so I can watch the British Open. I am a golf fan and I love Tiger Woods! And Phil Mickelson!  So this is gonna be a quick post, so I can get back to cheering them on!
I am still trying my hand at the mixed media thing...so this is my latest.

I used the colors for the current

Here is a little closeup. I cut circles of paper and added buttons to make flowers.
I used the Mona Pendleton Design MFT stencil-Stone Wall with fiber paste to make the walls of one of the houses.

I like the therapy of getting messy with mixed media, but I can't seem to make anything pretty with mixed media.  It's like I start creating and I just start thinking about texture and paints. I need to learn how to make a plan first or a sketch. I just don't get it! I love what I see others doing, especially on You Tube. I get excited and want to experiment, but I don't know if I will get the hang of it!
It is a juxtaposition in my brain between my love of white space and love of the art of mixed media.
But I am not afraid of trying to learn! I have even signed up for a Mixed Media class with Donna Downey in August and I am very excited about that! I am VERY fortunate that her studio is only 45 minutes from where I live! yay!

Oh well...

The best ship...

Hello!!!
Just wanted to share a card I made with a new challenge (to me)
called Curtain Call! Apparently this is an old challenge that has returned to the blogging world.  The inspiration from the design team is unbelievable!  Verve Stamps, is sponsoring the Feeling Nautical challenge!  PLUS-the owner, Julee Tilman, made a card for the challenge! Take a look at her amazing creation! LOVE!!!!!!

The challenge photo:

And my card:

I really loved the gold and navy colors in the photo. All of the stamping is from 2 of my very favorite stamp sets by Verve called Text Objects and Love Notes. I just adore the little sail boat!

I used the current MFT Wednesday Stamp club sketch:

You're the Best

I saw a card similar to this in the Stampin Up catalog and I thought it was so cute!

I had just received the July Stamps of Life stamp set -award2stamp and had an aha moment!
This stamp set would be great for the card I fell in love with in the catalog.
That is a MFT doily die behind the banner, and the banners were cut with MFT Fish Tail Stax dies.

I have this card planned for a very special friend!!!

I am entering this into the current challenge at Cas-ual Fridays!

Case this Sketch #35

***Happy Dance!!! This card was one of the CTS Honorable Mentions!

Hi all!
Hope your week is going fabulously!
I have had a very stressful day at work...
but you don't want to hear about that!
"They" say challenges make you stronger, so this was a perfect card for me to make!

I used the current fabulous sketch from...

I used one of my new favorite stamp sets-
Positive Thoughts (Precious Remembrance)

I heat embossed the circles with Versamark and white embossing powder. Then I splattered some Mister Huey in Calico White and Bookworm.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

I am now gonna put on my jammies, grab a Diet coke (my wine of choice) and plop down in front of the TV !
 That's how I de-stress!!!

Mixability Challenge @ Splitcoaststampers

Hi! I wanted to share my tag that i just created for the current
This week the challenge is to create a project (card, layout, altered item, etc.) using 3 or more surfaces! I decided to use a tag.

My first surface: The Tag
I inked my work pad with the Distress Inks-Dusty Concord, Peacock Feathers and Picked Raspberry. Misted them and drew my tag thru the colors. Next, I painted with a Gesso wash to tone down the colors.  It was too pale! So then I used my Distress Paint dabbers and added back color!
I took some Gelato markers and colored around the edges of the tag.
The stamping on the tag is a variety of different stamps.

My second surface: Stenciled Fiber Paste
Using the MFT Blooming Rose stencil with Fiber Paste! I dried it with the heat gun.
Next I painted the rose and leaves with Gelatos and water. And shaded with a water brush and Ranger Tea Dye Distress Ink.

And my third surface: Ribbon!!!

(Pardon my messy work surface!!!)

I took white seam binding and stamped it with a  Tim Holtz ticket stamp and black Archival Ink.
Next I sponged with Tea Dye Distress Ink.

After drying with my heat gun, I painted the seam binding with a pink Gelato and water.
I colored some more white seam binding with Fresh Lime Dylusions spray mist.

I you look real close, you can see where I strung some metal honey bees and crystals on some twine to give the tag a little more sparkle!

Hopefully this hasn't been too long winded!!!!

Hello! Hope everyone had a Happy July 4th!

I just wanted to share this card I made.
A really sweet blogging friend of mine, surprised me, and sent me this beautiful stamp set and die  from My Favorite Things!   It is called Blooming Roses and it was designed by the VERY talented Mona Pendleton! So...as soon as I opened it, I wanted to use it!
And here is my card!

See....aren't these roses gorgeous!!!!!!
Mona has designed the stamp set as a 2-step process, so it makes these beautiful roses very easy to do!
Plus a die to match!!! Who doesn't love that???

Thank you again, my sweet friend! I am loving using this stamp set !

Thanks so much for stopping by!!!
