Retro Sketches #35

Happy Sunday! It has been BEAUTIFUL here today! I thought we were going to have gray skies and wind from  hurricane Sandy, but it hasn't happened here. I feel so sorry for all those people in Sandy's path. I will pray it veers to the ocean and not to shore!

I made a very quick card today. I love this Memory Box stamp and I thought it would be perfect for this week's retrosketches challenge. I inked it up with some Versamark and heat embossed with white powder. I added some clear Stickles to the branches of the tree to look like ice glistening in the moonlight. (Unfortunately, my camera did not pick this up in the photo). The sentiment is from a MFT stamp set. I tied the sentiment banner with some silver string. This card is prettier in real life.

retrosketches #34

Wanted to try the current  FUN retrosketches challenge #34!

I think I should have left off the Versamark snowflakes...oh well!

I used the negative cut of a Verve Christmas Tree die and popped it up with 2 layers of dimensionals.
The paper underneath and on the border is the new Stampin Up Christmas paper called Festival of Prints. I then added some red and green pearls.

Cr84FN #65

Happy Thursday! I was off today and that was wonderful!
I got to do a little shopping and went to visit my mom. So it was a very good day!
I wanted to post this card before I got into my jammies and settled in to watch
Project Runway tonight! Love that show! Perfect ending to my fun day!

I was inspired to make this card by the beautiful colors for the current

I  used some Spellbinder dies for the flower and the pretty frame around the flower.
The papers are MME. The pennants and banners are PTI dies.

The friend that I gave this card to, seemed to really like it! Yea!!!!!
Hope you have a great evening, too!

Happy Birthday

Hello! Hello!

I needed to make a birthday card for a sweet co-worker.  I had just seen a tutorial about how to make a Double Dutch Fold card on SplitcoastStampers, so I thought I would give it a try.

Opened

You may notice that I used papers from my Simon Says October Card kit once again...
but I just LOVE these papers!

...and the die cut hearts and the sentiment are all Verve products.

I hope she likes this birthday card. It sure was fun to make!

CR84FN Color Challenge #64

Happy Sunday! Hope everyone had a fantastic weekend!
I wanted to make a card with the beautiful colors for the current CR84FN Color Challenge:
Lt. Blue ~ Yellow ~ Green

I just love butterflies!
So when I saw these Memory Box dies at my local stamping store, I just had to have them!
The sentiment is stamped on a journal card that I altered a little bit with an Edgers 4 die (PTI).
I saw this idea on one of the many blogs that I love to visit.
Hope I have maybe inspired you in some way, today!

Halloween Goodie Bags

Shhhhhh!
Don't tell my coworkers, but these are the treat bags I have made for them this year for Halloween!
I saw these treat holders on one my favorite Stampin Up web sites that I like to visit called
My Chic 'n Scratch, by Angie Juda. She has a great tutorial on her web site called a Double Pocket Treat Holder.  And these are what I created!

I used various Cricut cartridges for the different little monsters!
Mini Monsters, Create a Critter 2 and Simply Charmed

The treat holder on the right shows what is on the back of each treat holder.

These were so much fun to make!

I am going to enter the
Trick or Treat + die cut or Punch
