Happy Birthday

Hey, hey hey!!! Hope all is well! I have had a great day and now my weekend begins!
I am looking forward to Saturday because I am going to a Crop for the Cure! It is done each year by one of my friends and we always have lots of fun for a VERY good cause! Lots of friends, food, door prizes and great ideas! What a better way to spend a Saturday????

Today I wanted to share a card that I made for one of my brother-in-laws. (Once again the dreaded masculine card!) I got this idea from an idea sheet that came with my Simon Says October Card Kit. I know I have used this kit numerous times, but I just LOVE it! I am going to order some more of this delicious paper-Country Boutique-FancyPants custom made for Simon Says Stamps.

And this is my card:

I am going to link this up to the Simon Says Stamp Challenge

CAS-UAL Fridays #71

Hope everyone survived their Monday! That alarm clock
does come early on Monday mornings! hehe
My card today was inspired by the Cas-ual Friday Challenge for this week.

I love this ek Leaf punch, and this was the perfect opportunity to use it. After I punched the leaves, I ran them through an embossing folder (Woodgrain-Sizzix) and sanded them a little bit. I tied some button twine (PTI) bows around the leaf stems. As you can see, I also embossed the card base (Bubble-Cuttlebug). This fun sentiment is from the turkey2stamp (Stamps of Life) stamp set.

Retro Sketches #30

This is one of the easiest cards that I have made in a very long time. All because of this SUPER paper pad that I just received in my Simon Says October 2012 Card Kit! It is called Country Boutique (FancyPants for Simon Says). Doesn't it look like peeling paint? So Cool!!!
I stamped the sentiment (On the Edge-Simon Says Stamps)onto my Double-ended Banners die(PTI) and wrapped Cappucino twine(The Twinery) around one end. Made some hash marks around the perimeter with my White Gelly Roll pen and that's it! I really like the end product.  Hopefully you do, too!

Play Date Cafe #150

Wow! What colors!!!
Flamingo ~ Honey ~ Coffee
Looked like a fun challenge to me!

And this is what I made:

The first thing that caught my eye in this photo was that gorgeous flower! I immediately thought of the
new stamp set from the Simon Says October 2012 Card Kit called Always and Forever, that I had just received in the mail. I stamped and heat embossed the center flower with black embossing powder. I  colored it with Copic markers.  I masked this flower and stamped 2 more flowers. The middle of the flower was sprinkled with some Elements-Pottery. (I am not sure I am liking this stuff very much).
I sewed and distressed the edges of the front panel. Added some yellow ribbon and of course I had to  add some bling!

Mojo Monday #259 Boo to You

I made this card using this week's Mojo Monday Sketch!

When I first saw the sketch I thought this would make a real pretty card.  But then I saw my new Halloween stamps and paper sitting on my desk.  The stamps were just calling..play with me! play with me! So.. I did! Instead of pretty, I went for scary! heehee!
Isn't he a cutie? I just love this little vampire. I have made him lots of times. He is on page 34 of the Mini Monsters Cricut cartridge. The fabulous Bingo stamp is from Oct 31st (Cardz TV).
My papers are from the Jeepers Creepers (Paper Studio) paper pad. The "moon" was cut with different Spellbinder dies. The black card base was embossed with a woodgrain Sizzix folder to give it some texture.

I thought I would enter this into Scrappy Mom's Terrific Tuesday Challenge -Halloween.
Maybe I'll win one of their fabulous stamp sets!!!

My colors for the inks and papers are Crumb Cake, Almost Navy and Chocolate Chip (Stampin Up).

The beautiful stamp set is IB Butterflies by My Favorite Things.
The fabulous button is by BoBunny-Hello Sunshine collection.

You laugh, I laugh

Hi all!!! I just wanted to share a card I made for my VERY GOOD friend last night!
She makes me laugh so hard that I pee my pants, sometimes! You know the kind of friend where you can totally be yourself and just have a good time! She and I met at work and we just automatically clicked! When I saw this stamp, it reminded me of us. It made her giggle when I gave it to her today and I hope it brings a smile to your face, too!

The card is a 5 x 7 S-fold card made with papers from my stash.
The stamps are a combination of Stamps of Life stamps sets.
The old women are a I Brake for Stamps-Seniors set, which I colored with Copic Markers.
And, of course, Spellbinder dies.

Pure Poppy & Leaf Green!

Is this a bright card or what????

I made the card with this week's Dynamic Duos Challenge in mind.
I didn't have Poppy Parade or Lucky Limeade, but I did have Pure Poppy and New Leaf Green ( PTI)! I just thought these colors were so crisp and cheery, so just had to try it! I love the white card base. I think it really makes everything pop. The flower was made with the Spellbinder's Rose die with a SU brad in the center. And if you look closely, you will see that I embossed the white panel.

I kinda used this week's JUGS sketch challenge, too!

Thanks ever so much

Hello everybody! Happy Labor Day!
We are preparing for the big invasion here in Charlotte...
the DNC!!!!!!!!  The traffic and crowds are supposed to be awful for the next few days.
Perfect time to hunker down in my house and get lots of stampin done!
So I looked at all my favorite challenges and chose the colors from
These colors are wild this week, but so much fun!

I also used the Freshly Made Sketch

And this is what I created!

I got to use some of my new toys that I just received from Verve!
Woo Hoo!! The Pennant Trim die and the stamp set Treasured Words. And I got to use some of my favorites too- the Fresh Daisies die from  Simon Says Stamps and the Honeycomb EF from Sizzix.
