Play Date Cafe Challenge 83

I discovered a new color challenge - Play Date Cafe Challenge.

The challenge is black and white with a splash of green!

https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg-8Dsuxqc4PoTEgNE467cgB9zjiW8AV4DUZ1p-WOtqKkPX3yrk4qpGMlChulH1gsQNGN2S4iufqy4-qJcPm8MgxhHntlFgbuP99F8HMc3LNEdfc5FFzHRSZBMqD1x8YIahBZauJDUIiGFx/s1600/PDCC83.jpg

so...I thought I had to give it a try!

I used a sketch from the Viva La Verve Sketch Challenge # 5
which was designed by the Verve Diva Tosha Leyendekker
https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgIq6Xym-YTYtbvaO7Bj5JnWfmqGFtMENjDg3-WtVz8D63TFSpn3pTiycLfZToulOAJxqPoYu8obEgvMSJ2NY4wo7K3ExUPZveVGp-cyA2jywf7b32qyZpMpOkUEkv-Qm5eX435K9t5Ta4/s1600/VLVMay11Week5Sketch.jpg

This sketch was difficult for me with these skewed panels and the 3 panels on the bottom!
I had to really concentrate! heehee!

The green does not show up as bright as it is in real life. Darn it!
(I guess I'm gonna need to invest in a photo tent if I'm gonna keep up with this blogging stuff!)

I paper pieced some of the corners to give some depth to the panels. I didn't ink any edges, which is unusual for me! I was trying to keep it sharp and crisp. I don't know if I accomplished that or not.
I then drew some lines with the black Stickles thru the rays of the star to give it some sparkle!

well...thanks again for stopping by! I just love visitors!

CR84FN30

https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjbkPJ6CNedhxYpgx5ah-a9s-hFB7XZFubvzsoaIFIIEOUAxluWGac8_voLxtTsHF4VetCQUfekoOR7-HFK_kT1gYDNUuVNYjq8C6SNEdT_ROTGRk43k0wWXKlca2HqfhQ8UrHoGZX-JZk/s1600/CR84FN30+Graphic.jpg

Don't you just love this color palette by the CR84FN #30 Color Challenge?

I was instantly motivated to go create something!
Once again I went to my new favorite papers-K & Co's Watercolor Bouquet.
I just love this paper pack.

I used the Week #4 Viva la Verve sketch by Charmaine Ikach to design the card:https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEio-7eJ2WSfzkEOXD3t_COd2w4wb_ypm32XK3k4HUpiC0tiKfJtAToiDJFro3C-3yY4j3pqmHaw-OITDKjTcYL_mkRkWGDH0VKsyMJUEZWvQwZPaMMsfOZH1N1m3ypx3PZN4GjmPzicHpI/s1600/VLVMaywk4.bmp
This card has several layers, so I inked all the edges
with Stampin Up's Crumb Cake ink,
to add some depth. The sentiment, too.
The sentiment has been stamped on one my newest purchases-
Spellbinders Fancy Tags Trio Two dies.
I can tell already that I am going to use these dies a lot!

Thanks for stopping by! And I love reading your comments!

Just Because....

Another challenge! Another card! My favorite thing to do! Even now, I'm trying to cook supper and do this post at the same time. If I burn the chicken pot pie, my dh may not be so understanding of my paper addiction!

This card is another combination of challenges! I love having a sketch and a color combo all figured out, so that "all" I need to do, is come up with an idea!
    Easy, peasy...NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The sketch (done by one of my favorite Verve Divas-Amy Sheffer) for the
Viva La Verve May Sketch Challenge:
https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgIFRfWRTsWi5Gu2DS4IPhPioweFxPaM1w8KJVVLLk7jpspVTxTokn2vNgctkUQWXce7PJD8Lu6TQkR2b9BZW3ntBoROfy2xZXjfacfDFJtxP1VKJ2SHxjfIq_pBNy6HS5Y1zsLUW-gVq_n/s1600/VLVMay11Week3Sketch.jpg

And the beautiful colors are from the fabulous  CR84FN Color Challenge:

https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj9QqLcSsieJmba5PJk5MzZS-zSfMuLDyQgWouyXMVgrK1Z9omQ3O1P-AX2g4-Kefg31BxvZiUb2xCJ4PlOA2srNbhfpb81fLuqB41bKMyaKCLAq3JlgqeoQd_irjkh7_Jc90qYMW8IRfg/s1600/CR84FN29+Graphic.jpg

And this is my creation:

The corners were made with a Spellbinder Shapeabilities Pendant eyelet dies.
as well as the pendant behind the sentiment.
I added some Stickles glitter to give it some sparkle!

I felt it was too bare in the middle, so I hung a silver charm from the bow with some linen thread.

Thanks for stopping by! I must go finish our dinner!

I prayed for you today

This card was made using the Viva La Verve May 2011 Sketch Challenge Week #1:

https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgN8FxdJtq2Ity2x3a2JWdzZzyDSWhwjymLM88uGaqaX-zEphTVtzpDdSogi2KdhC2Xj05Jm3dj5TBaLb24ULphYdoQwCamoRntBL-OoVO-PUNRKVpjyp0AmPfr55z_8VRk0RFNmPPr_2Lq/s1600/VLVMay11Week1Sketch.jpg

Believe it or not, these colors are  shades of green and brown, but I could not get it to photograph or photo-shop that way. I'm sorry. It does look better in person. The seam binding is a real pretty shade called fig. Oh well, hope you enjoy the card anyway.

Thanks!  I love to read your comments, so please let me know what ya think!

Happy Birthday to my Hubby!

Isn't this cute? I made this card for my sweet hubby!
His best girl (besides me) is our little dog-Lucy!
She is a full grown 6 lbs. and is Daddy's little princess! She is a choodle-chihauhua & poodle! She is white with black spots...therefore this color selection! I cut her with the "Paper Pups" cartridge on my Cricut Expression. The calendar is from Stamps of Life. And I printed the sentiment on my computer.
My husband was a coach for years and still loves sports, so I thought this paper would be perfect.

Hope you enjoyed the card! My husband did :)

It's Your Birthday!

Hello! Today's card is a combination of 2 challenges!

This sketch and the color challenge were so much fun to work with.
This card definitely made me think of summer time!

I used lots of different dies. The doiley is actually the Spellbinders Eyelet Pendants Die.
I not only cut it out, but embossed it, too. I hope you can see this detail.
You may have to enlarge the picture by double clicking on it.
I did not have to emboss the yellow card. It is paper by Bazzil that is already embossed!

The flowers were made using the My Favorite Things  Rolled Flower dies. I just love these dies!

Hope you like the card. Thanks for stopping by!

Heard you caught a bug!

Happy Sunday! Hope everyone has had a wonderful week end!
My DH and I went to see our son.
We always love spending time with him! So...a GREAT weekend for me!

I wanted to share this funny card I made this afternoon:

I found a great website for punch art.  It is called Paper Punch Addiction, by Kim Score. She has many great ideas to share. She is VERY creative!  For a small fee,  I downloaded this file "In the Garden" from this web site.  It has some really cute bugs and animals.  It was a whole lot of fun to make.  Please check out her web site.

This bee was made with  Stampin Up  punches!
  Can you believe that????

Hope you have enjoyed the card!!!

Thanks for stopping by! And I love hearing from you!

Ice Cream Makes Everything Better!

Hello Everyone! Hope ya'll are doing well! It's been another gorgeous day here in North Carolina!
Instead of going outside, I stamped! See where my priorities are!

The CR84FN Color Challenge for this week:

https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhpTVsBbNCrGSJy2Y3yVFmQew2bIEwikCEiqrjv8j5MRpp1oJVHJhqDKFrKxVbBIX0CE8-5qsie3CQ8Uz-92qgRCz6OvOFk6Ve0xps8l1IYlucT3n2s-FeAUXdYy9T3DBtJJB6fB3Tlby0/s1600/CR84FN26+Graphic.jpg

And this is my card:

I just got my new Stamp Set of the Month from the Stamps of Life.  It is so darn cute!
So I wanted to play with it as soon as possible.
I stamped the ice cream and then ran it thru an embossing folder to give it some texture. Doesn't it look yummy? I then stamped the cone on kraft paper and glued the 2 pieces together. I attached the ice cream to the card with dimensional tape. You can't see it very well in this photo, but I also put a light coating of Stickles on the ice cream.

Hmmm....I think I want some ice cream!

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you enjoyed this post!
