Enjoy Your Day! VLVMAR2011 Sketch #1

Happy weekend everyone! It is almost over! Boohoo! Work tomorrow!

It is the beginning of a new month of  for the Viva la Verve Sketch Challenges at Splitcoaststampers. I just love these sketches. They give me such great ideas!
I got this paper pad not too long ago. Very bright cheery colors! I think pink and yellow go great together.
So...I decided to use it for the first sketch challenge of the month.  What do you think?
It might be a little too busy? Maybe so, but I had great fun making this card. I just couldn't seem to stop with all the details.  I dry embossed the pink paper with a cuttlebug folder. Hopefully you can see this. I don't know the name of the folder! I stamped the sentiment with Stampin Up ink called Pixie Pink and also inked all the edges with this ink color. I added yellow ric rac ribbon and some stickles on the butterfly and the sentiment.
I popped up the butterfly with some dimensionals and added some bling to make it sparkle:

                                            Paper: Me & My Big Ideas"Sunny Days", Bazzill
                                                      Stamp: Verve "Big Wish"
                                                      Ink: SU Pixie Pink
                                                     Accessories: SU Scallop Edge punch; MS butterfly punch;
                                                        Sizzix "Decorative Label Set #3 Die; Cuttlebug Embossing folder;
                                                          Stickles "Stardust"

 Hope you enjoy this post! Keep Stampin'!

Slider Pop Up Card

Happy Saturday!!! Hope you are having a great weekend. It is beautiful here in the Piedmont of North Carolina. Beautiful Carolina blue skies! It was such a nice day that my hubby, my doggie and I took a walk!  So...the inspiration for my Slider pop up card! I wanted to do a card for the Challenge #17 Interactive card on craftingwithcristina's blog. The tutorial for this type of card is from her blog and also on splitcoaststampers.com. When you go to these websites,  you will find lots of tutorials for all types of cards!

This card was completely made with the Cricut cutting machine! The cartridges that I used were "Paper Pups",  "Simply Sweet" and "Walk in my Garden".

Hope you enjoy!

VLVFEB2011 Week #3-Pretty in Pink

I really enjoyed making this card today. I just love pink!!!!!!!
The envelope is a die that I purchased from Stampin Up called Scallop Envelope. It is so pretty. I hope you are able to see the detail along the scallops. You may need to click on it to enlarge it.
Once again I tried my hand at using the sewing machine. I really like adding this detail to my cards. I just need to  practice, practice, practice!

VLVFEB2011 Week 2

It's Saturday!!!! Yeah!!! Me and my hubby are going to the movies this afternoon and then to see a movie!  The King's Speech! Happy Valentines to us....just a few days early!
Who wants to celebrate on a "school night"?
Besides, my weekly scrapping meet is every Monday night! See where my priorities lie?
Enough about my personal life!

This is my latest contribution to the Viva la Verve Sketch challenge on Splitcoaststampers.
 I just love these papers! So bright and cheery! A reminder that Spring is coming soon!

The sketch called for stitching! OMG! I have had this little craft Singer sewing machine that I purchased from Big Lots about 6 months ago! I've just stared at it ever since! It was very scary to me!
But then I saw this challenge and decided to put on my big girl pants and give it a whirl! Now don't look too close, because it is my very first time...but I did it! I think I'm gonna like using this machine!
I've always loved seeing stitching on other people's cards and thought it looked so cool. Now I'm ready to experiment, too! I also distressed the 2 panels in the middle of the card with a tool that I got from Stampin' Up.

                                                   Paper: Cosmo Cricket "Garden Variety"
                                                   Stamps: Verve "Big Wish"
                      Accessories: Verve "Embossed Oval" die; Singer sewing craft machine;
                                       SU Distressing tool; brads, button, Prima flower, ribbon, and twine

Hope you enjoy!

P.S. I love your comments!

My Hubby's Valentine....a.k.a. VLVFEB2011 Sketch #1

This is my Valentine's Day card that I made for my husband. I wanted to use masculine colors, and this paper from K & Company was just perfect! Now this may be TMI...but I used this stamp set because my husband calls me his snuggle bunny! Aww... how sweet! Well, as soon as I saw this MFT stampdesigned by Stephanie Fiser, I had to have it! And I have had it for several months!!!!
I knew that I wanted to use it for Valentine's Day or our anniversary. So there you go!
I colored the moon and bunnies with Copic Markers.
Then the new "Love Notes" stamps by Verve had the perfect heart stamp for the sentiment.
I adhered the heart with dimensionals.

I also used the "Love Notes" stamps for the inside of the card:

                                                             Paper: K & Company; Bazzill
                                                      Stamps: My Favorite Things "Snuggle Bunny"
                                                                   Verve "Love Notes"
                                         Accessories: Nesties Circles and Lacey Circles;Ribbon;
                                                                 and  Copic Markers

                                               Let me know if you enjoyed this card and I my mushy story!
